Mission Statement
Dawn’s Place pro-actively supports women affected by commercial sexual exploitation (CSE) or sex trafficking and its abuse by providing services to women, raising awareness through education, and generating prevention, public policy reform and community collaborations. Because we believe that CSE is a violation of human rights and the most extreme form of domestic violence, Dawn’s Place works to improve the lives of women trapped by, or at risk for CSE, by providing housing, trauma recovery services, vocational training and other services.
About This Cause
Since 2009, as pioneers in this field, Dawn’s Place, a 501(c) 3 non-profit, has provided a safe and caring residential setting for 9 women survivors of commercial sexual exploitation (CSE) or sex trafficking. Our vision is to provide a new beginning for victim/survivors through our residential program. Dawn’s Place offers an opportunity for women to pursue healing and a purpose in life. The comprehensive, individualized program at Dawn’s Place recognizes the trauma that trafficked women have endured and attempts to deal specifically with the issue of commercial sexual exploitation. We also attend to the myriad of other issues related to human trafficking that have impacted the women’s lives, i.e. Substance Abuse Disorders, health, legal, educational concerns, family issues and their future occupation and housing possibilities.
