Mission Statement
To identify continuing needs of individuals with Down syndrome, and create exploratory projects to meet those needs.
About This Cause
DS Action, a 501(c)(3) non-profit, grass roots organization, investigates and implements solutions to enhance the lives of persons with Down syndrome. DS Action was founded in 2006, by parents, care givers, medical professionals, teachers and business professionals. In January 2008, as our first project, DS Action established the first Down Syndrome Center in Southern California, at Rady Children's Hospital. The Center benefits children with Down syndrome by offering multidisciplinary assessments, recommendations and case management, by a team of medical specialists. We are proud to share that our operations are completely managed and supported by volunteers, including our Board of Directors. DS Action has minimal overhead, which allows for proceeds from fundraising efforts to go directly toward supporting the Down syndrome community. The overall health and well-being of people with Down syndrome is our focus. We find solutions to meet those needs, along with providing education and resources to the Down syndrome community.
