Mission Statement
JR's Pups-N-Stuff began with one goal in mind - to save animals from life-threatening situations. We are a Foster-Home based rescue organization which receives animals resulting from Owner Surrenders or Placement Programs with other animal shelters. Often, these are animals that might otherwise be euthanized in their current shelter environments due to housing overflow/shortage. To date, we have rescued 8,000+ animals. Our intention is to find the right match between adopters & these animals with the hope of a forever home for these animals. All adopted animals receive Age Appropriate Vaccinations (Rabies/DHLPP), Sterilization, Microchipping, Deworming, and Heartworm testing. JR’s has any adult dogs testing positive for heartworm treated. We also have Ear/Eye/Hip/Leg surgeries, & Dentals performed as needed. In the future, we plan to include a DBA of The Ruff Hut which will provide a quarantine area for rescue animals, daycare, boarding, grooming, training, and low-cost vetting.

To date, JR’s Pups-N-Stuff has found adoptive homes for nearly 9,000 animals since it began its mission. We seek to provide good and forever homes to all the animals we rescue. Besides dogs; JR’s has rescued cats, bunnies, guinea pigs, and not too long ago…. a potbellied pig! All adopted animals receive Age Appropriate Vaccinations (Rabies/DHLPP), Sterilization, Microchipping, Deworming, and Heartworm testing. JR’s Pups-N-Stuff has any adult dogs testing positive for heartworm treated. We also have Ear/Eye/Hip/Leg surgeries, amputations, & Dentals performed as needed. JR's Pups-N-Stuff has made continual strides over the past several years and makes every effort to go above and beyond in medical treatment. We pay to have surgeries performed which are necessary for those rescued animals in need of these procedures. This includes hip, knee, eye & ear surgeries, amputation, parvo treatments, and more. JR’s has treated several hundred dogs with non-contagious mange which requires ongoing medication - often for months - as well as frequent vet visits to heal the dog. JR’s Pups-N-Stuff tests all their dogs over 8 months of age for heartworm and is one of the few rescues who pay to have them treated if the test results are positive. Many rescues will have the animal euthanized if it tests positive. For those rescues, being positive for heartworm would surely be a death sentence. JR’s has paid to have nearly 700 dogs with heartworm disease treated. Our process begins with the completion and submittal of an application. Upon receipt of the application, we contact the applicant’s vet, the landlord (if renting), and complete a background check. After that, we contact the applicant to schedule a home visit. Our intention is to find the right match for the dog and the applicants so-as-to help ensure this is the forever home for these dogs. Without the funds we receive from adoption fees, fundraising events, and other donations, we would not be able to provide the services we do for these homeless animals.
