Mission Statement
Driven by a commitment to equal opportunities, the Education for the Children Foundation has worked with young people and families from the Jocotenango area since 2003 to access quality education, nutritious food, healthcare and social support. Through a highly individualised holistic approach we strive to empower young people with the skills and confidence to be successful in their chosen careers.
About This Cause
Children and young people from impoverished backgrounds are provided with quality education and empowered to become motivated, confident and employable. Moving on to further education and rewarding employment will improve their quality of life and help them break free from the cycle of poverty that has blighted generations in this area. They will become leaders of change in their communities and inspire future generations. Our School of Hope is located in Jocotenango, Guatemala. The nutritious food, healthcare, psychological services, and career guidance given at the school remove obstacles to education and enable our students to realize their potential. We currently support over 400 students in our K-9th school and provide full scholarships to 200 high school and university students. In addition to these scholarships, our oldest students receive job skills training, vocational testing, attend career fairs, have entrepreneurship opportunities, and participate in job placement. Our commitment to our students extends well beyond the classroom.
