Mission Statement
Our mission at Equestrian Bridges is to build connections and empower NWA families. We do this by improving the quality of life and increasing opportunities for success. We build bridges by moving clients from being disconnected and disengaged to being confident and self-reliant. We improve quality of life by promoting and guiding healthy relationships inside and outside of family units. Finally, we increase opportunities for success by providing access to support services and by promoting the development of social, emotional, and communication skills that lead to an enjoyable and fulfilling life. Our vision at Equestrian Bridges is that we change the face of mental health for Northwest Arkansas families with the development of our Equine Therapy and Community Wellness Center here in Lowell. Within the center, we will empower all individuals including children, adolescents, and adults of all abilities and needs. We will support the development of emotional, mental, and physical fitness using Natural Horsemanship while completing Equine Assisted Activities and Therapies (EEAT). The center will also provide families access to related community services, therapies, and essential resources (support groups, state program meetings, outreach programs) from the NWA areas. Our beliefs at Equestrian Bridges are that in order for success to be achieved, an individual must be confident and be empowered by utilizing the highest standards in quality. Quality includes the health and safety of our therapeutic horses and clients, a research-based curriculum, and individualized goals and care plans. Our goal at Equestrian Bridges is to empower NWA youth and adults of varying abilities using the EAAT to facilitate social, emotional, and behavioral skill development. Our center will provide programs for veterans, youth at risk for social, behavioral or academic delays, students from local schools, and local leadership teams. Our philosophies at Equestrian Bridges are based on research related to individuals with varying abilities and Natural Horsemanship training. We believe that in order to achieve success we must work on the client's level, set reasonable goals, and provide motivation through encouragement, reinforcement, and support. Our team also believes that in order for learning to transfer to various settings, care plan goals should come from individualized plans that include collaboration with teachers, therapists, and family members whenever possible.
