Mission Statement
Basset hound rescue group who provides veterinary care, food, shelter, and support to dogs needing assistance in the mid-Atlantic states. We treat these animals with care and respect. MidABHR makes decisions based on compassion and with concern for the quality of life of each individual dog. We place dogs in our care into foster homes and permanent homes with consideration to personality, behavior, and special needs. We provide continuing support to adoptive families throughout the lifetime of the dogs
About This Cause
All volunteer, 501c3 non-profit dog rescue working in direct cooperation with local rescues and shelters to ease the overburden of the shelters and lower the euthanasia rate. We help owners of dogs who can no longer care for their pets to place them in suitable foster and adoptive homes. Education is provided to the public and owners concerning the proper care of dogs, spay and neuter programs to decrease overpopulation and poor breeding, and training to enable people and their pets to peacefully co-exist.
