Mission Statement
We believe that knowledge is a catalyst for children to create for themselves a better future. Educated and empowered children are behind robust and successful communities and countries. Our vision is that children in Uganda have access to and experiences with a quality education, and that they use their knowledge and experiences to create a brighter future.
About This Cause
Our mission is to empower children in Uganda and instill in them a life-long love of learning by: (1) PROVIDING EDUCATIONAL RESOURCES & TRAINING: We donate books to schools, establishing libraries, and giving access to books to thousands of children. Additionally, many schools lack adequate infrastructure, including sufficient classrooms, desks, and chalkboards. Basic schools supplies are also scarce, leaving children without the materials needed to learn. We partner with schools to provide needed educational materials, and build adequate desks and chalkboards, allowing children the opportunity to learn in an environment conducive to such. (2) FOSTERING COOPERATION WITHIN SCHOOLS & COMMUNITIES: We work with teachers, headmasters, parents, and community leaders in Uganda, to build lasting partnerships, with a focus on increasing the quality of and accessibility to, education, for children throughout the community. (3) ENCOURAGING CHILDREN TO DREAM BIG: We work directly with children, teaching concepts about goal setting and goal attainment. We engage with them both inside and outside of the traditional classroom setting, in activities and games that expand their imagination and independent thinking skills, and increase their confidence. Opening their vision to see that their potential is limitless - that they can be and do more than what their current circumstances allow - will ignite a spark inside of them that can change the direction of their lives.
