Project Sanctuary believes that when one person serves, the entire family serves, and envisions a world where military families find healing, strength, and a lifeline to a more hopeful future together. Project Sanctuary is a leading provider of therapeutic retreats and ongoing support for military families by reconnecting and empowering the entire family toward healing.
About This Cause
Therapeutic Retreat Program: Project Sanctuary hosts therapeutic retreats in five states across the country that are staffed and designed by Certified Therapeutic Recreation Specialists, licensed counselors, and social workers. Retreats are open to active-duty service members, retirees, veterans, Reserve and Guard families (currently serving or past service) from all branches of the military (including Coast Guard) and all eras. All families, including the LGBTQ+ community, are welcome at our retreats. Families/couples that are looking for a therapeutic environment to help them reconnect, navigate communication challenges, and help all members of the family (including children) learn how to work together in challenging times to restore family cohesion will benefit from our therapeutic retreats. Family Support Program: Family Support offers services to all military-connected families, including veterans, active-duty, guard/reserves, spouses, children, and caregivers. The Family Support department is led by licensed staff members who are committed to providing excellent, sympathetic care and respect. In most cases, services are reserved for pre- and post-retreat families and families referred by other veteran-serving partners. Family Support will help you explore: • Short and long-term goals • Navigate resources • Make referrals • Provide crisis support • Discuss support systems Families are invited to engage with Family Support to discuss financial resources, counseling referrals, and connections to services offered by collaborating partners. “My wife and I were struggling in our marriage with no real direction or solutions to our issues.
