Clinton Drive. With its range of programs, exhibits, and special events, the Museum promotes the legacy of the Clintons' commitment to public service and civic engagement for international, national, and local visitors as well as preserves the historic home and its role in Fayetteville, Arkansas history.
About This Cause
The Clinton House Museum was established in 2005. It is the first home of President Bill Clinton and Secretary Hillary Rodham Clinton. At our core, we are a historic house museum. This house is more than a house, though! The Museum tells the story of a young, idealistic couple who married and launched their careers in Fayetteville, Arkansas. They represent the spirit of the American promise, that anyone from anywhere can make a difference in the world through public service. We are absolutely a non-partisan organization, and we focus on the historical story embodied in this house. The story itself is meaningful because it demonstrates the American values of democracy, hard work, and service to others. Beyond the story of two of this house's most famous owners, we offer events and programs that celebrate Fayetteville and Arkansas history and culture, field trips for school-age children with curriculum that matches state framework standards in numerous areas, and are a community resource for events and civic engagement. In late 2019 we will be hosting a temporary exhibit about Johnny Cash's Folsom prison concert with a heavy emphasis on Cash's meaning to his home state of Arkansas, his time in Fayetteville in 1968, and his work and travel with candidate and then Governor Winthrop Rockefeller. These programs will include interpretations in Spanish, programs on Arkansas prisons and prison reform for adults and children, and the impact Cash has had in Northwest Arkansas and in his industry. Our visitors come from all over the world. Since March, 2017 we have offered free admission for all visitors in an effort to make history and culture accessible to the entire community.
