Steve’s Camp at Horizon Farms is a non-profit dedicated to providing a free summer camp experience for underserved young leaders ages 11-18 from the 5 boroughs of New York City. We empower young people to realize their potential through a free unique camp experience that encourages each camper to develop a healthy body, healthy heart, and healthy mind.
About This Cause
A summer of fun. A lifetime of growth. Launched in 2011, Steve’s Camp at Horizon Farms is a non-profit dedicated to providing a free unique summer camp experience for New York City youth. It gives kids ages 11-18 from persistently underserved communities the chance to spend 12 days on beautiful working farm in Livingston Manor, New York. Coming from the congested neighborhoods of the city, campers ages 11-18 are immediately introduced to nature’s expanse when they arrive at Steve’s Camp. The open fields and rolling hills where the farm is located, the woods and waterfalls that campers hike through, and the starry skies they view at night: these offer a glimpse of how boundless the natural world is—and how much they can learn and absorb from it. Wide open skies, wide open possibilities, wide open minds.
