About This Cause

Formed in 2008 to address the staggering statistics surrounding kids in foster care, the hallmarks of the Foundation give personalized support to kids under three pillars: ENRICHMENT, EDUCATION, and TRANSITION TO ADULTHOOD. There are more than 2,000 kids in foster care in Orange, Seminole and Osceola counties and 100 children are removed from their homes each month. While the State of Florida uses funding to provide stipends for safety and basic needs for kids in care, it is rarely enough to cover all of the expenses to provide typical childhood experiences and important opportunities for kids who just want to be regular kids. With more than 22,000 foster kids as “wards of the State” in Florida, a “cookie-cutter” approach is prevalent in the foster care system, which doesn’t meet all their needs.
