Mission Statement
The Stroup Kids For Kids Epilepsy Foundation was incorporated in 2007 and currently run a nationwide fundraising event called Tri To Help® and a local event in Maryland called Addielicious Walk To Help™. These events are run and staffed solely by volunteers and is dedicated to helping individuals affected by epilepsy / autism disorders. We are a volunteer run foundation with no operation costs. For this reason, 100% of the money donated goes to our projects! The funds donated to the Foundation support our projects in Epilepsy Lectureship Series, IEP & Related Advocacy Services, Child Life Specialist sponsor for the Johns Hopkins Epilepsy Monitoring Unit, Ketogenic Epilepsy Research, and Metabolism based Therapy in Epilepsy. We also have a tablet/phone donation program called Tech To Help. Devices donated will be given to kids with epilepsy and autism. We want to empower people with options and help when dealing with epilepsy and autism disorders by ensuring quality care for all.
About This Cause
The Stroup Kid For Kids Epilepsy Foundation, Inc. is a non-profit 501 (c) (3) organization incorporated in 2007 that is dedicated to helping individuals affected by epilepsy / seizure disorders. We are a volunteer run foundation with no operation costs. Therefore, 100% of the money donated goes to our projects. These project include the Epilepsy Lectureship Series, IEP & Related Advocacy Services, Ketogenic Epilepsy Research, Metabolism based Therapy in Epilepsy, and Child Life Specialist sponsor for the Johns Hopkins Epilepsy Monitoring Unit. We also have a tablet/phone donation program called Tech To Help. Devices donated will be given to kids with epilepsy and autism. Our main goals are to raise money to help prevent, control and cure epilepsy through education, advocacy, and research for exceptional treatments including surgery, diets, brain stimulation, and medications. We want to empower people with options when dealing with epilepsy and ensuring quality care for all. Our marque events for raising money and awareness is the Tri To Help Indoor Triathlon For Epilepsy and the Addielicious Walk To Help 1-Mile Family Fun Walk. History In 2004, Adelyn (Addie) Stroup had her first seizure. At the time her parents, Trent and Tina Stroup did not know what was happening to their first child of five months. After many weeks in the hospital and countless tests, Addie was diagnosed with Aicardi Syndrome, a rare disease affecting the brain which causes seizures and major developmental delays. At this time, Aicardi is very rare with many diverse outcomes. Research is only at the beginning stages. The Stroup Family created this foundation in honor of their children for helping them and other children affected by Epilepsy. At this time, the main staple for raising awareness and charitable endeavors for epilepsy research is the Tri To Help© indoor triathlon event to benefit the research of Epilepsy at centers across the nation. The Stroup Kids For Kids Epilepsy Foundation is funded primarily through individual and corporate donations from the general public.
