Honor Flight Chicago recognizes the bravery, determination and patriotism of America's senior war veteran with a one-of-a-kind, all-expense-paid journey to Washington, D.C., for a day of honor, thanks and inspiration. The trip is only one day, but the experience is life-changing!
About This Cause
Honor Flight Chicago was founded in 2008 to recognize America's senior war veterans by flying them all-expense-paid to tour the memorials built in their honor. The one-day, all-expense-paid-trip is filled with appreciation, tributes, memories and gratitude. Many veterans form new bonds with one another during the day. Countless more confess their lives are rejuvenated afterward. Although the trip is only one day, the experience changes lives. Through 2019, Honor Flight Chicago has flown 95 flights honoring 8,728 senior war veterans. As Bud Sullivan, a Navy WWII veteran proclaimed, "I am fortunate to have had a lot of blessings and good days in my life, but without question, the honor flight was the most outstanding day I can remember. I never felt like a hero before, but I am beginning to believe it."
