Project Details

Blood is the most precious gift that anyone can give to another person — the gift of life. A decision to donate your blood can save a life, or even several if your blood is separated into its components — red cells, platelets and plasma — which can be used individually for patients with specific conditions.

There is a constant need for regular blood supply because blood can be stored for only a limited time before use. Regular blood donations by a sufficient number of healthy people are needed to ensure that safe blood will be available whenever and wherever it is needed.

Spandana Foundation took the initiative called BLOOD4LIFE to bridge the gap between donors and needy in this area by developing an innovative tool and launch it in USA and India.

After conducting our preliminary research on the existing platforms/solutions, available to date, to address the above needs, we have concluded to apply modern technologies to address the acute need for blood using the following 2-step approach –
• Web Site – Provides an overview of our objectives and enable donors register to the program in a user friendly intuitive manner.
• SMS (Short Message Service) Messaging – This will allow recipients, Blood banks, Hospitals, Clinics, Doctor Office … to quickly request for the desired blood type.
o Blood4life seamless service offering will quickly route the recipient request –
 to the nearest available matching donors
 along with the location details
 Requesting them to quickly reach the destination.
