Mission Statement

Established in 2008, the Conrad Foundation honors the legacy of Apollo 12 astronaut, Charles “Pete” Conrad, and his four-decade passion for innovation and entrepreneurship. The organization promotes contextual learning, innovation and entrepreneurship, and foster students’ abilities to apply these skills to create a sustainable world for this and future generations.

About This Cause

The flagship program of the Conrad Foundation is the Conrad Spirit of Innovation Challenge. The Conrad Foundation believes students have the potential to create the next world-changing, commercially-viable products and services, and the Conrad Challenge is a place for the next generation to “Get Their Genius On.” Since 2007, the Conrad Challenge has brought together a dynamic community of innovators and entrepreneurs driving a collaborative movement to develop extraordinary and viable solutions to benefit our world in one of four areas: Aerospace & Aviation, Cyber-Technology & Security, Energy & Environment, and Health & Nutrition. The Conrad Challenge is 100% funded through grants, corporate and individual gifts. Inspiring, engaging and supporting our student teams is our top priority. We depend on leading corporations, individuals and government organizations that have the vision to sponsor our programs to support our mission.
