Mission Statement
The mission of the C5 Youth Foundation of Southern California, Inc. (C5LA) is to provide equity for high-potential teens from under-resourced communities in Los Angeles County by inspiring them to pursue personal success, while preparing them for leadership roles in school, college, work and their communities. C5LA offers this five-plus year leadership development, college preparatory, service learning and college persistence programming to approximately 350 students between grades eight and twelve each year and to 125 college-age young adults to encourage college persistence and success. All programs are offered at no cost to participants.
About This Cause
C5LA has helped high potential, at-risk students beat the odds and succeed at astounding rates. For the past 25 years, 100% of student participants graduate high school and over 95% of our students have matriculated to college or another post-secondary opportunity. C5LA was honored by the Los Angeles School Board for excellence in empowering students to become community advocates and leaders of education.
