SENIORS IN ACTION FOUNDATION

Seattle, Washington, 98104 United States

Mission Statement

We engage seniors in community service throughout the Chinatown International District and the City of Seattle. In addition, we promote civic involvement by educating and encouraging the area's seniors to register as a voter and to vote. During each election we conduct election/voter education seminars in which we explain the background of the candidates and the various items on the ballot, thus enabling them to exercise their voters' right as an educated and informed voter. Exercising your right to vote will make your voice heard. Moreover, we promote public safety in Seattle Chinatown by setting up surveillance cameras.

About This Cause

Seniors in Action Foundation was founded in 2006 by Ms. Nora Chan. The goal was to provide various kinds of help to the Chinese seniors living around Seattle Chinatown International District and to educate them their rights and civic duties. Over the years SIAF (Seniors in Action Foundation) helped thousands of seniors to register to vote. We engage the seniors in social activities by taking them on trips to places such as Leavenworth and Vancouver, B.C. Canada and we honor them at our annual luncheon. We also engage them in volunteer activities such as cleaning up streets and parks in their community.
