Mission Statement
Since 2004, Games for Change (G4C) has empowered game creators and innovators to drive real-world change, using games and immersive media that help people learn, improve their communities, and contribute to making the world a better place.
About This Cause
G4C drives its mission forward through programs and initiatives that expand how games and immersive media advance social good. Through industry convenings, executive production, and educational programs, we bridge industries to unite creators, leaders, and changemakers in harnessing games and XR (virtual reality, augmented reality, mixed reality) for a better global future. - Global Initiatives & Convenings like our annual G4C Festival in New York City serve as vibrant hubs for connection, innovation, and collaboration—amplifying the impact of games for social good and creating opportunities that transcend sectors and career stages. G4C events reach a global audience, with locally-led programming in Latin America, Europe, Asia-Pacific, Africa, and the Middle East, ensuring authentic representation. - Advising & Executive Production brings visionary ideas to life through impact campaigns, educational curricula, workshops, and arcades grounded in games and XR for impact. Recent work includes award-winning projects such as On the Morning You Wake (To the End of the World), a VR documentary on the 2018 ballistic missile alert in Hawai’i, and Active Citizen and PeaceBuilders, a collaboration with the Nobel Peace Center and Minecraft. - Educational Programming empowers the next generation of socially conscious game designers through top-tier curricula, game jams, and industry mentorship—reaching underserved youth worldwide. Since 2015, the G4C Student Challenge has reached over 55,000 students in 45 countries. 75% of participating schools receive Title 1 funding.
