Mission Statement
The Global Smile Foundation (GSF) mission is to build global health capacity for cleft care practices worldwide by providing comprehensive cleft care for underserved patients in developing countries as well as empowerment and sustainability initiatives. For more than 35 years, our founding members have been involved in providing the highest level of cleft care possible to ensure the long-term health and wellbeing of our patients and their families. We strive to build sustainable capacity for cleft care around the world so that no patient must live with untreated cleft. We work according the highest standards of health and safety while also maintaining the dignity of our patient population.
About This Cause
The GSF Global health impact includes: Leadership in the development of sustainable comprehensive cleft care capacity in outreach settings: -Training for cleft care providers worldwide -Annual Comprehensive Cleft Care Workshop -Regionalized fellowship programs -Cleft care centers established in Lebanon and Ecuador Academic and research activities: -Post-doctoral fellowship -Publications in peer-revised medical journals -Publication of textbook -Participation in international conferences and meetings Public health initiatives: -Partnership with regional and national authorities to impact health policies -Increase public awareness of cleft and cleft prevention
