Mission Statement
Clipped Ear Cat Sanctuary/ Forgotten Dogs of the Fifth ward is a group of volunteers devoted to the welfare of forgotten and abandoned cats and dogs. We offer animals in need help. We provide veterinarian service including spay and neuter, vaccines, heart worm and flea medications. As well as injured animals we provide medical care. We assist in finding placement for abandoned animals. We also support and are actively involved with trap neuter and return of feral cats in the area. We believe that through education and spay and neuter we can decrease the pet overpopulation. We also run a small no kill sanctuary for animals that have medical issues that prevent them from being adopted.
About This Cause
CECS/FD5W is a small no kill charity dedicated to the welfare of abandoned and neglected cats and dogs in the impoverished area of Houston called the Fifth ward. Because of lack of resources most of the animals are not spayed or neuter and therefore countless litters are born each year struggling to survive. We try to intervene in the vicious cycle of deprivation and misery through spay and neuter and education. We also prove food for the animals in the community in need by establishing feeding stations as well as giving locals food and medical care for their animals. We also seek to find forever homes and foster homes to offer the animals a second chance at life. We also focus on trap neuter and return of cats to once again stop the circle of reproduction. We also focus on education and assisting the area residents on how to care for their pets and the importance of spay and neuter as well as vaccines and heartworm treatment.
