Mission Statement
The Michael J. Murphy Music Scholarship Fund has been created to provide private music related instruction and necessary equipment and/or materials to children from families that do not have the financial means to provide this opportunity.
About This Cause
The Michael J. Murphy Music Scholarship Fund is a non-profit organization that was created in 2009 in honor of Michael J. Murphy, whose life was cut short in 2008 at the age of 32 by a hit and run driver. His passion was music. He was a singer/songwriter who played multiple instruments, recorded his original music, played in various bands in addition to his own, and taught guitar at a local music school. It is our intention to keep his passion alive by encouraging and inspiring young students who do not have the opportunity for private lessons to follow their desires to learn and play.
