Mission Statement

Celebrating differences and cultivating an inclusive community through education and service of youth in Greater Indianapolis.

About This Cause

The Joseph Maley Foundation, a non-profit based in Indianapolis, Indiana, cultivates an inclusive community through empowering education and service programs for youth. The Joseph Maley Foundation has served over 150,000 youth since our founding in 2008, including more than 35,000 in 2021. We offer three unique education programs: Disability Awareness, Hope, and As You Are. Aligned to academic standards, our programs feature puppet shows, hands-on activities, children's literature read-alouds, speakers, and creative activities to engage youth with important diversity and social-emotional learning topics. Participants in our education programs develop empathy and understanding for all people and learn skills to help them advocate for themselves and others. The Joseph Maley Foundation also serves youth in our community through these distinctive service programs: Joseph Maley Family Support, which offers legal guidance to families navigating the special education system. This program also features a vital sibling component. Joseph Maley Fitness, our adaptive fitness initiatives. Junior Board of Directors, a working board comprised of students in grades 8-12, who support the Foundation and act as ambassadors for all our programming.
