Mission Statement
Bnot Chaya Academy (BCA) is much more than a school. It’s a place to land. A safe space for young women who’ve been told for years that they don’t belong. At BCA, we combine unconditional love and therapeutic support with a stellar academic program to mold confident, competent students capable of becoming productive members of society—feeling safe in themselves and to those around them. Our comprehensive support makes BCA a blessing in each student’s life.
About This Cause
YOUR GIVING OPPORTUNITY: Would you be willing to help keep our doors open to the girls who desperately need us? Whole student. Full support. At BCA, we start with the knowledge that no two students are alike. It’s why we work tirelessly to determine the individual needs of each young woman. Our commitment to serving students means—unlike most schools—that an academic curriculum is just one piece in a full spectrum of support services. A look at our professional staff: Menahel - A legendary mechanech Rabbi Zechariah Wallerstien Founded BCA in September of 2008. Rabbi Zechariah Wallerstein continues to be the vision and guiding light of BCA . Addiction counselor – BCA’s addiction counselor works with students to support them in times of crisis and during recovery from substance use disorders, eating disorders and other behavioral issues. Social worker– BCA’s Social worker works closely with students to help strengthen them socially, behaviorally and cognitively. Clinical director – The clinical director at BCA coordinates all care/support to facilitate connections between students, therapists and their families. She also provides parents with classes and other helpful resources. Special education professional - Our special education expert makes sure that students with Individual Education Plans and 504 Plans receive their mandated accommodations and services. Mashgiach Ruchani is the spiritual heart of B’not Chaya Academy. His compassionate support of BCA parents, many at the ends of their ropes, includes counsel and guidance through a Torah lens. Principal Chaya Aviva Katz – Mrs. Katz’s expertise comes from years of leadership in creating impactful Jewish curricula, special education and teen mentorship. She oversees BCA while providing personal emotional support to students and parents. These world-class professionals, along with our unparalleled teaching staff, build a 360° circle of trust and advocacy for each student. YOUR GIVING OPPORTUNITY: Today, we need funding to continue offering each critical modality of support. If you’re able to help us, email bnotchaya@ymail.com A “Whole-student” education A BCA education is built on a foundation of true acceptance. Our structured educational program guides BCA students to learn critical life skills, develop healthier relationships, and often graduate with a New York State High School Regents diploma. What makes a Bnot Chaya education unique? Our individualized approach—combining academic skill-building in both Judaic and General Studies curricula with electives driven by students’ own interests. All inspired by traditional Torah values.
