About This Cause
Helping Amazing People Find Their Way Back... RECOVERY FOUNDATION, INC. Over 100 people die everyday from a drug overdose. Over 20 million Americans over the age of 12 have some type of substance abuse (other than tobacco) addiction. In Wisconsin, there were 883 opioid related overdose deaths in 2017; a 7% increase over 2016... a 35% jump from 2015. The stigma and the face of addiction has changed dramatically over the years. Today, it’s our neighbors and coworkers. It’s our siblings, friends, spouses, parents, and children... Recovery is an opportunity for these amazing people who are dedicated to getting their lives back. It’s the process of change, through which people can improve their health and wellness and strive to once again live a life to their full potential! People with severe and chronic substance use disorders can, with effective treatment, overcome their illness and regain control of their lives. The Recovery Foundation is committed to helping these people find their opportunity through their recovery. The Recovery Foundation, Inc., founded in 2009, is a non-profit organization that supports individuals in Dane County through their substance abuse recovery by providing them with Treatment Scholarships. These Scholarship Recipients are dedicated to their recovery, and want more than anything to reclaim the life they were meant to live. The Recovery Foundation was able to help 28 people with the cost of their treatment in 2017. 2018 is shaping up to be the most successful year to date, with an expected 40+ people to receive Treatment Scholarships. The Recovery Foundation is giving back. Due to the generosity of it’s donors and sponsors, the Foundation is providing the opportunity to people who desperately want to recover from this crippling disease of addiction.
