Mission Statement
To affect change that alleviates the systematic oppression of transgender people - especially those at intersections of identities - through advocacy and direct services, while using a mental health-centered model and social justice lens.
About This Cause
GHC is a grassroots, transgender-led community organization founded in 2010 by community members who saw a gap in care and a large need for culturally competent providers for transgender populations in the Sacramento region. GHC staff is comprised of folks who are queer identified, transgender, HIV+, and people of color. Our four main buckets of intertwined programming include: 1) Mental Health; 2) Health Advocacy; 3) Community Provider Training and Education; and 4) Community Building Social and Recreational Programming.
