ROBINSON THEATER COMMUNITY ARTS CENTER

Richmond, Virginia, 23223 United States

Mission Statement

Robinson Theater is a multi-purpose facility that exists to inspire and encourage healthy living to the residents of North Church Hill in Richmond, VA.

About This Cause

Robinson Theater was established from an historic renovation in 2009 where an old movie theater was transformed to help bring life back to a desolate neighborhood that once thrived as a social hub of the community. The Robinson is rooted to be a resource for the immediate neighborhood. These resources translate through fitness, nutrition and arts-based classes, community events and a welcoming environment to gather. Residents may attend a quality class, right near their home, instructed by a professional dancer, fitness coach, martial artist, registered dietitian and many more. The facility is also used as a venue for the community to gather for Robinson-hosted events such as the annual block parties or to host their own milestone event such as a wedding or birthday party. It is a neutral space for residents from all sides of the community to own and shape providing a positive place to come together.
