About This Cause

The National Center for the Prevention of Community Violence is a national nonprofit with extensive experience providing evidence-based programming aimed at interrupting the process of violence in communities across the country. NCPCV programs accomplish this through community programs, training, and integrated use of technology. GreenZone is a tangible, measurable way to identify behavior and promote positive interaction and overall positive environment. It provides expectations on how we speak and relate to one another, as well as provides insight as to when individuals within a setting leave the zone of appropriate behavior. GreenZone programs include: GreenZone Elementary: Character development GreenZone Middle and High School: Bullying prevention GreenZone Relationships: Preventing relationship and dating violence among adolescents The Zone: Student-led Organization that promotes GreenZone behaviors GreenZone Parent Program: Encourages parents to adopt GreenZone in their homes Actively Caring for People (AC4P) brings to life the concept of acting with civility and compassion to multiple fields. AC4P has been researched, implemented and proven successful in various settings across our country and the world, from industry to educational and community settings. AC4P Policing brings this process to police officers around the country bridging the divide between the community and law enforcement. Training officers on how to deliver positive consequences in ways that help to cultivate interpersonal trust and actively-caring behavior among police officers and the citizens they serve. AC4P First Responder Wellness promotes comprehensive, culturally competent training, education and tools promoting health and wellness of police, fire personnel, non-sworn staff and their families. School Safety Center is to provide a comprehensive, effective approach to address school safety and prevent violence on campuses. With its school safety assessments, crisis response planning, and critical incident planning resources, the center is dedicated to interrupting the process of violence before it becomes a tragic event for students, teachers, and staff. The School Safety Center focuses on all areas of potential violence for campuses, with on-site premise and policy reviews, best-practice training, and technical assistance to implement and address these issues. School Safety Center team members work with school officials, key community individuals and organizations to create an violence-free environment and prepare stakeholders for responding when crisis or critical incidents arise.
