Lake Cares food pantry distributes food to those in need in Lake County Florida.
About This Cause
Lake Cares distributes food and personal items to individuals that as suffering from food insecurity in Lake County. Over 65% of the clients are seniors and people with special needs and there are 35 clients 85 years and older. The goal of Lake Cares is to distribute as much healthy, nutritious food as possible. Clients receive milk, eggs, meat and a variety of fresh produce and fruits. Clients are interviewed at the main office each time the client receives food to determine if there are other needs. Then a referral to the correct social service is set up for the client. Lake Cares has 4 mobile sites to service food desert areas.
