Mission Statement
Joppa helps homeless people survive, find housing and rebuild their lives. Our mission is to create communities of unconditional love, support and hope for the homeless, as we work together to prevent homelessness.
About This Cause
JOPPA is a 501(c) 3 nonprofit organization serving homeless people that live in tents, under bridges, and in vehicles. Each week, trained volunteers visit on average 200 people living under bridges, in tents, vehicles, and recently off the streets. We build relationships and check in on people, provide food, water, TP, and other necessities, as well as referrals and offers to help people overcome specific obstacles, find housing, and get back on their feet. Joppa is also developing fundamental solutions to homelessness such as a Tiny Home Villages. Joppa does not receive ongoing state or federal funding. But thanks to your continued support, we’ve helped nearly 700 homeless individuals and families get off the streets, over 80% of whom remain in housing today.
