Mission Statement
The specific charitable purposes of All About Equine Animal Rescue, Inc. are to rescue and rehabilitate abused, neglected, abandoned, unwanted, and/or slaughter-bound animals, primarily equines (wild and domestic); to provide animals with food, shelter, care and handling; and veterinary care, as needed; to utilize a strategic process for matching healthy, rehabilitated animals with compatible, loving, and permanent adoptive homes; to provide long term care for unadoptable animals; and to educate the community about abused, neglected, abandoned, unwanted, and/or slaughter-bound animals, primarily equines (wild and domestic).
About This Cause
All About Equine (AAE) was founded in El Dorado Hills, CA in 2009 when a large numbers of horses were being neglected, abandoned, or sent to auction and slaughter. The rescue concept became reality in June of that year, when the first two slaughter-bound mares and foals arrived. Since that day, over 360 horses have found their way through AAE's barn doors. AAE relocated to its own 61-acre property in Pilot Hill, CA in 2022. AAE has maintained a high overall adoption rate (75-85%), and many horses are now living healthy and happy lives thanks to the heroic efforts of our volunteers and the generous contributions of our donors. AAE provides services to the surrounding community. AAE hopes to resume our programs in Pilot Hill starting in 2023/2024 including youth educational programs, Girl and Boy Scout projects, community service projects, field trips, Veteran workshops, camps for at-risk youth, and much, much more.
