About This Cause

The Randy Shaver Cancer Research and Community Fund, founded in 2003, funds cancer related research and community projects in the State of Minnesota. The mission is to support research, prevention, treatment and other needs of the cancer community throughout the State of Minnesota. Randy's focus has always been cancer research and Minnesota's Cancer Community. However, the fight became personal after the 1998 tournament when he was diagnosed with Stage IV Hodgkin's Disease. His treatment and current remission prove that this community and its generosity have made an impact with Randy and others like him. For the past 20 years we have been operating on a less than 10% budget with more than 90 cents of every dollar donated going directly to the charity.
