Mission Statement
Bernie’s Book Bank sources, processes and distributes free quality children’s books throughout Chicagoland to empower children to explore new ideas, gain knowledge, and strengthen reading skills through book ownership.
About This Cause
Founded in 2009, Bernie’s Book Bank is a nonprofit organization dedicated enabling positive life experiences through children's book ownership. We provide FREE quality books for local children, ages birth through sixth grade, to build personal libraries. Our organization sources, processes, and distributes eight books annually to children at Title I schools and early childhood programs. We envision a future where every child has equal access to books and the opportunities they inspire.
