PACIFIC BAMBOO RESOURCES

SEATTLE, Washington, 98136-1148 United States

Mission Statement

Since 2004, Pacific Bamboo Resources has brought together citizens, students, professionals, and leaders in government, business and academics — locally, regionally, and internationally — to pursue new ideas for sustainable bamboo resources, resilient food systems, and related sustainable community and economic development. Our mission is to cultivate economic activities that restore the health of our natural and built environments and, in turn, create resilient, sustainable communities across the Pacific Northwest and beyond. Not solely a bamboo venture, PBR projects reflect efforts of creative, practical social work for rewarding social change.

About This Cause

In short, PBR through its "flagship" program, Bamboo for Good (B4G), pursues four "R's" to support projects and programs of sustainable community development: - Provision of Educational and Material (R)esources; - Capacity Building for Individual and Community (R)eadiness and (R)esponse to critical social, economic and ecological events and contexts; and, - Creative, Collaborative Strategies for growing (R)esilient livelihoods and habitats.
