Mission Statement
Friends of Refugees exists to manifest the love, life & light of Christ to Portland area refugee communities. FOR equips & mobilizes individuals to serve the needs of our neighbors who have fled war, violence and persecution. FOR helps new arrivals “land on their feet” through services such as English classes & material donations as well as the help & guidance that comes through genuine friendship.
About This Cause
Friends of Refugees aims to serve the felt needs of refugees/asylum seekers, to encourage community and friendship between host citizens and refugees/asylum seekers. To increase local awareness of the needs of displaced refugees/asylum seekers being relocated to the U.S. and foster understanding of their culture and religion.
