Pedal the Cause accelerates breakthrough cancer research at Siteman Cancer Center and Siteman Kids at St. Louis Children’s Hospital by inspiring and mobilizing a community committed to curing cancer. Our vision is audacious but within reach: we envision a world without cancer. We are relentlessly striving for a future where everyone lives their life free from the fear of a life-threatening cancer diagnosis and where prevention strategies, innovative treatments, and cures are accessible to all. We don't stand alone. Since 2010, the Pedal Family has formed a vibrant community united by a shared purpose: to transform cancer research and save lives.
About This Cause
What started as a ride in 2010 has evolved into a dynamic community mobilized for change, fueled by hope and united in our commitment to curing cancer. 100% of the dollars raised by the Pedal the Cause community seed, speed, and lead cutting-edge cancer research-- more than $51M to date. This transformational investment seeds promising research ideas and speeds innovation, bringing groundbreaking treatments from concept to lab to patient at an unprecedented speed. But our impact doesn't stop there. By investing in the brightest minds and nurturing the talent to lead this transformational research, we are planting the seeds for a future without the crushing burden of cancer. For every $1 Pedal the Cause donates to cancer research an additional $13 is obtained (on average) in outside funding, resulting in over half a billion dollars in leveraged funds.
