About This Cause

Founded in 1986, the mission of New Hampshire Children’s Trust (NHCT) is to lead the drive to ensure safe, stable, and nurturing relationships and environments for children by educating, advocating, and collaborating. We envision a state where all children grow up free from abuse and neglect. NHCT is the Governor’s designated statewide primary prevention agency, the state chapter of Prevent Child Abuse America and a member of Centers for Disease Control and Prevention’s Essentials for Childhood Network. Rooted in public health best practices, NHCT’s work is instrumental in affecting systemic change and has resulted in the continuation and further expansion of family strengthening efforts throughout the state. NHCT has over three and a half decades of experience collaborating with family strengthening and support organizations and professionals. An investment in New Hampshire Children’s Trust will power our ability to:  Ensure access to family strengthening services and supports available throughout the Granite State, through social media, PSAs, outreach mailings, NH Family NOW podcasts, FRC rebranding, and much more.  Promote and maintain a strong, collaborative community of practice among Family Support New Hampshire (FSNH) members.  Expand the Kinship Navigation Program within Family Resource Centers. This statewide, community-based program connects relative caregivers and the children in their care to critical supports and services, designed to strengthen and support their wellbeing.  Provide trainings and technical assistance for family strengthening professionals who work directly with thousands of families throughout NH.  Strengthen family protective factors by providing concrete supports in times of need like, diapers and wipes, as well as flexible funding to provide immediate, temporary, economic relief, distributed through Family Resource Centers statewide.  Maintain and expand the centralized Family Support Data System (FSDS), a statewide data collection and reporting system that tracks and evaluates outcomes and positive impacts on NH children and families.
