Mission Statement
Middleton Community Orchestra Mission Statement The Middleton Community Orchestra (MCO) is a volunteer, nonprofit membership organization comprised of musicians from the Greater Madison area dedicated to rehearsing and performing classical orchestral music. We aim to provide engaging, inspiring and enriching musical experiences for musicians and listeners by: • Attracting, as members, proficient adults from the community. • Providing culturally enriching musical experiences for audiences and orchestra members by presenting the highest quality performances possible at a reasonable cost to the public. • Ongoing development of individual and ensemble musicianship. • Advancing the art and appreciation of orchestral music through the study and performance of proven, new and culturally diverse works. • Conducting the business of orchestra management with fiscal integrity. The MCO rehearses weekly from September to June and offers five concerts per season. The MCO strives to increase performance opportunities for local musicians and to expand, diversify and deepen audience understanding and appreciation for classical music. Accessibility is key to our mission of building a thriving musical community in the Greater Madison area. Since 2010, the MCO has been guided by a single idea-to bring talented amateur musicians in the community together to share their love of orchestral music with each other and our audiences.
