Inverted Arts is helping disadvantaged youth discover and unleash their creative voices for the good of their communities.
About This Cause
Inverted Arts helps disadvantaged youth discover and unleash their creative voices for the good of their communities. Our strategy is: 1. Build Partnerships with community organizations that have a history with students, families, and the community; 2. Lead Art Exploration Programs led by professional Artist Mentors who provide tools and training in multiple artistic disciplines, the opportunity for students to create an artistic product, and present their work at a community showcase; 3. Offer Internships and Scholarships to students who want to pursue a career in the arts; 4. Promote, Support and Collaborate in creative projects and products, and the artistic careers of young artists; 5. Launch “Creative” Small Businesses led by our interns and scholarship graduates in their own communities, believing that creativity and community development go hand-in-hand. Since our launch in 2010, we’ve built partnerships with 14 organizations in the Twin Cities, and one each in Pasadena CA, Nairobi, Kenya, Monrovia, Liberia, and Santo Domingo DR. We've worked with 2,750+ students, presented their creative achievements to audiences of 12,500+, offered 165 student internships, and awarded 15 four-year college scholarships.
