Mission Statement
At Operation: Care and Comfort (OCC), we recognize the immense sacrifice made by our troops who leave behind their safety, comfort, and homes to protect ours. That’s why we strive to send them a little piece of home – a connection back to the memories and comfort they left behind. Since 2003, we’ve been dedicated to improving the lives of those who serve our country. Our nationally recognized programs include sending care packages to deployed service members, providing tickets to entertainment and sporting events, and offering emergency financial assistance to veterans in need.
About This Cause
Operation: Care and Comfort is an all volunteer organization which supports troops deployed overseas, veterans and military families. Our three award winning programs are: OCC Care Packages- We understand the importance of showing our support and appreciation for those who have served our country. We’ve been honoring our heroes since 2003 and have been thriving with the support of our amazing volunteers. Our Care Package Program provides a way for individuals, groups, and organizations to make a meaningful difference in the lives of our military and veterans. Over a million pounds of care packages have been mailed overseas since 2003. OCC Adopt a Military Family- Since 2005, our “Adopt a Military Family” program has assisted San Francisco Bay Area and California military families for one-time support. We understand that living in this area can be expensive, and many military families struggle to make ends meet. That’s why we’re here to provide support when it’s needed most. Through our program, we work with military liaisons to identify families in need and provide them with one-time assistance from civilian donors, companies, or organizations. This could include purchasing special toys for military children, providing gift cards to local grocery stores, or helping to pay bills like electricity or water. OCC Tickets for Troops- We’re thrilled to offer this special program as a way to give back to those who have served our country. We believe that everyone deserves the chance to enjoy sports and entertainment events, and that includes our military families and veterans. Since 2004, we’ve worked with professional and college sports teams, entertainment venues, and promoters to send thousands of troops, reservists, veterans, and their immediate families to events free of charge. We charge no service fees or mailing costs, and the tickets are absolutely free. OCC's overhead is less than 5% because we have no salaries employees, business offices, or organization vehicles.
