About This Cause
The Southern California Streets Initiative is a non-profit organization which will educate and inform the general public about issues related to transportation, open space, urban planning and public health through publishing the works of professional journalists and filmmakers, and planning public events. The bulk of SCSI's work is to support, promote and grow the three Streetsblogs in California (http://la.streetsblog.org, http://sf.streetsblog.org, and http://cal.streetsblog.org) as well as satellite websites in Santa Monica (http://santamonicanext.org) and Long Beach (http://longbeachize.com). SCSI writers are professional journalists, often credentialed with local press clubs, and have been honored for excellence by the Society of Professional Journalists, the Center for California Studies, the LA Press Club, the American Planning Association and LA Weekly.
