Mission Statement
The Estria Foundation creates art in public with assistance from artists, youth, educators, and activists. Our goal is to raise awareness and inspire action in the movement to resolve human and environmental issues while educating and developing youth.
About This Cause
Estria Foundationʻs main program, Mele Murals, promotes youth development, arts education, cultural preservation, and community-building through the creation of large-scale outdoor murals. The mural designs in our work focus on Hawaiian lyrics (mele) that explore mo’olelo ‘aina (stories of place) and cultural and historical heritage. Local artists, youth, and other members of our communities spanning the islands of Hawai’i continue to participate in our programs. Visit Estria.Org for more information.
