Mission Statement
Mamie’s Poppy Plates is a donation supported non-profit whose mission is to provide tangible mementos to families who suffer stillbirth or infant death. Our keepsake plates, given to affected families at no charge, are customized with the baby’s footprints, name and birth information. Mamie’s Poppy Plates exist not to fill the impossible void of loss but to serve as a timeless reminder of their baby’s brief yet profound life.
About This Cause
Mamie’s Poppy Plates began almost 8 years ago after Mamie's co-founder, Sarah Bussey Adams, lost her daughter 3 weeks before her due date. Mamie was delivered stillborn June 25, 2009. Sarah spent a year trying to find a purpose in Mamie’s brief life. She felt God was calling her to use Mamie as a way to provide support and love to others who experience stillbirth or infant and child loss. In 2010, Sarah and her sister Britney launched Mamie’s Poppy Plates, a 501-C-3 organization that provides remembrance plates to parents who lose a son or daughter. We currently partner with more than 54 hospitals in 10 states and gifted more than 550 plates last year.
