GeekGirlCon celebrates and honors the legacy of women contributing to science and technology; comics, arts, and literature; and game play and game design by connecting geeky women worldwide and creating community to foster continued growth of women in geek culture through events.
About This Cause
GeekGirlCon is a nonprofit organization that celebrates the contributions and achievements of women and underrepresented groups in geek culture. We aim to create and host content for all geeks - from science and art to comics and gaming. GeekGirlCon’s largest event is a two-day convention that gives geeks and their supporters the opportunity to build a community, share facts and fandom, and learn how they can help promote the role of women and other underrepresented groups in geek culture. We also bring people together through social media and events in the Greater Seattle area. We have a lot of fun doing this, although we aren’t afraid to also tackle some serious topics. We invite anybody who wants to see more women and underrepresented groups succeed in geek-related fields to join GeekGirlCon.
