About This Cause
In existence since 2011, what started as an after-school tutoring program has evolved into A Family Advancement Center. Village of Promise guides and supports children and their families as they advance out of poverty. We utilize a mutli-generational approach. Every family that comes to Village of Promise develops an individualized family advancement plan focusing on the educational, social-emotional, physical health and wellness, and professional development goals of each family member. Through our continuum of programs, we provide sustainable tools, resources, and opportunities for families to advance and then give back. Our Growth Village of Promise has touched almost 1,000 children and their families since 2011 and currently has over 500 program participants. We offer many programs to include Infant University, Promise Preparatory Infant- Pre-K (3), Alabama First Class Pre-K (4), Family Connections, Adult Education: GED, English as Second Language, Ready to Work Classes and several other programs for children and their families. Our current space also includes an Early Learning Library and a STEAM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts, and Mathematics) Lab where families can STEAM together.
