It has since expanded contiguously to twenty other rural communities in North Malawi, with an approximate population of 32,000 people. Its 17 million people are subject to poverty, low life expectancy, low literacy, food insecurity, and high infant mortality worsened by HIV/AIDS. The organization was officially established as a (501)(c)3 in August 2011.
