Mission Statement
The Economic Awareness Council is a non-profit organization whose mission is to prepare students and families for the economic and financial decisions they will make both today and tomorrow. Meeting the needs of families and youth with limited resources is emphasized.
About This Cause
The Economic Awareness Council teaches financial literacy and capability to teens in the Chicagoland area. We are currently fundraising to continue transitioning our financial capability curriculum for teens/young adults to a new web-based portal to be more responsive to remote learning and we have significant demand for this. We are working at various Chicago public high schools teaching our Get Real financial curriculum. We also are continuing to work with both the City of Chicago DFSS/One Summer Chicago youth employment program and DCFS as well. We work very closely with several city and state departments for both initiatives.
