About This Cause
The Arkansas Hunger Relief Alliance, established in 2004, is a non-profit umbrella organization representing a network of hunger relief organizations located across the state. We work with local and national non-profit organizations as well as state and federal agencies in implementing programs designed to increase access to food and teach low income Arkansans the skills they need to make healthy food choices. We are also active in helping shape policy decisions impacting hunger in our state and in raising awareness of the educational, economic and social consequences of hunger. We house many programs including; Food Sourcing, Arkansas Garden & Gleaning Project, SNAP Outreach & Training, School and Out of School Meal Program, and Nutrition Education The Arkansas Hunger Relief Alliance, through our member food banks, hunger relief agencies, volunteers and corporate partners, is committed to providing programs, food resources, education and advocacy to reduce hunger and create a hunger-free Arkansas.
