Mission Statement
Community Smiles Dental (formerly Waukesha County Community Dental Clinic) improves the lives of the underserved through oral healthcare services, preventive education, and advocating for systemic healthcare change - Because everyone deserves a healthy smile.
About This Cause
At Community Smiles Dental, we believe every child deserves a healthy smile and a chance to grow up free from the pain and stigma of untreated dental disease. As a nonprofit dental provider, we specialize in caring for children from low-income families who are uninsured or enrolled in Medicaid/BadgerCare+ - a population that often struggles to find a provider who will see them. In 2024, we provided over $3.5 million in comprehensive dental care to 3,910 children across our two clinics. These young patients received preventive, restorative, and emergency services through 11,929 appointments and 55,246 procedures. An additional 2,796 children were reached through our school and community outreach programs, where we provide dental screenings and oral health education. We are proud to be a trusted resource for social service agencies, free and charitable clinics, and private dentists who rely on us to care for children they cannot serve. With a fully paid and fully staffed care team, we offer consistency, quality, and compassion that builds trust with families. Our reach spans 14 counties, 87 cities, and 122 ZIP codes, demonstrating the significant, and growing, need for accessible pediatric dental care in southeastern Wisconsin. As of mid-2024, more than 162,000 children were enrolled in Medicaid/BadgerCare+ across Milwaukee, Waukesha, Ozaukee, and Washington Counties—a number that continues to rise. Your support helps us provide essential dental care to the children who need it most - because a healthy smile is more than just dental work; it’s dignity, confidence, and a better start in life.
