Mission Statement
Frankfurt Zoological Society (FZS) is one of the world’s oldest international conservation organizations, founded in 1858 and headquartered in Frankfurt, Germany. With projects in 17 countries on four continents, FZS’s mission is to conserve wildlife and ecosystems focusing on protected areas and outstanding wild places. FZS prioritizes area size, biodiversity and wilderness, and specializes in long-term, field-based, front-lines conservation working in close partnership with national wildlife authorities.
About This Cause
FZS concentrates its efforts in areas where the greatest needs meet with the highest conservation value as measured by biodiversity and wilderness. We support projects in Africa (D.R. Congo, Tanzania, Zambia, Ethiopia and Zimbabwe), Europe (Germany, Romania, Belarus, Kazakhstan, Slovakia, Ukraine), Southeast Asia (Indonesia and Vietnam) and Latin America (Brazil, Colombia, Guyana and Peru).
