Mission Statement

The Hamilton County Harvest Food Bank supports 28 food pantries in Hamilton County Indiana. We are a 100% volunteer organization working to collect and distribute food to our neighbors in need.

About This Cause

In 2009, the local pantries joined together to continue the efforts that were first started by the Red Cross of Hamilton County. Since that time, we have collected and distributed over 320,000 lbs. of food to local pantries. Our main source of food donations are the food drives that the community helps us with throughout the year. Schools, businesses, churches, and neighborhoods organize food drives to help those in need in our community. Monetary donations to the Food Bank are used to purchase food and in 2015, 91% of those donations went to purchase food. Meijer Corporation has been a partner for the last four years through their Simply Give program. The food pantries receive 500-600 lbs. of food each month. The Food Bank also supports the Summer Lunch programs in Hamilton County. These programs have lunch for children from June to August.
